Pros

getting a paycheck, location of office

Cons

1. NO REMOTE!! 5 Full Days in the Office, Really? Yes, Really! It exists here at STARR!! 2. HR Dept. is a joke. Company Policies and Rules are NOT applied to ALL its Employees! EACH Dept has its own policy and rules they abide by. and HR know this fact, does NOTHING!! Who you report to Matters here! 3. It's an "ALL white Old boys club" So full of egomaniacs that nothing gets accomplished! 4. Everyone's afraid of the CEO!! He's almost 100 but has sooo much power, nothing will change.

Pros

Midtown location Great co workers New layout Half day before holiday

Cons

Sexism. No senior women in management. All of the senior women have been forced out and replaced by older white men from previous insurance company. Women are degraded and put into more secretarial/non management roles. Men curse in the office and are the only ones invited to important meetings. No minorities in high positions. High turnover among younger employees No flexible work environments Nepotism

Pros

Some very talented individuals work at this company. A few willingly cooperate and mentor.

Cons

Mostly observed disfunction and infighting. High levels of turnover. Must be from "the old comany" (AIG) to be given any credibility whatsoever. Superiors will throw you under the bus without any hesitation and then act like nothing happpened. Systems are a mess. No telecommuting--must be in the office, in full business attire, at a desk--very 20th Century.
