Low pay, Low hours

Pros

Free games and bowling Half price food Most coworkers are fun No other real pros to this job

Cons

Hours at bad times of day, constantly working late nights and peak hours. Not many hours are given on each schedule, corporate is constantly telling managers to cut hours. They freak out and punish you if you go into overtime, even if you're a server making only 2.15 an hour. They treat the employees like they don't matter, so there is a very high turnover rate. They also hire high schoolers and unreliable people, but they can't really get anyone else because of the low hours. No benefits offered, they do not hire full time employees except for management. They constantly say that "there is room to move up in the company," but that is not true unless you are close to a higher-up in the company. They only promote people who have connections, even if they are bad at their job. Constantly let managers get away with things like verbally abusing employees, skipping out on duties, watching TV in the back. A lot of inappropriate workplace relationships, managers dating employees, employees dating other employees, and that can make for a hostile work environment at times. Many employees feel that the company is "cheap" because they're constantly trying to cut labor, making employees feel stressed because we are constantly understaffed. You also never get any breaks unless you are a smoker. I have worked 10+ hour shifts and never got even a 20 minute break. You would think that you could take a break during slower times of day, but management tells you to "keep busy" or else you get punished. They hire you on with promise of raises every 3-6 months with your reviews, but you never get them. Worked there for a year and a half and never got a raise. They pretend to be a fun family company, but they have seriously bad management practices.

Benefit Review

Pros

Benefits are offered at time of hire for full time salary employees. 2 weeks of vacation are given automatically. The actual benefits are very reasonably priced and fairly decent for individuals without dependents.

Cons

It seems to get fairly expensive when you had on two or more dependents for coverage that is not top notch. Very high deductible.
