Pros

Absolutely none, this place will use you up for year or more then terminate right before they have to pay out your bonus. Absolutely worst company to work. They’ll reap what they sew soon. And as a customer every estimate or appraisal they write will be a low ball to protect the bottom line. That’s all they care about.

Cons

Avoid at all cost. Unmanageable workload and stressful job. They’ll have you needing medical assistance daily with how much of expectation they have for you. Then as soon as it gets near bonus time they’ll terminate you(and trust me they’ll find a way). Bonus is paid in March and as soon as February hit I started getting pressured about work performance from meetings and emails then when I got even more of my 400+ claims done they terminated me on an allegation of misconduct after I put in blood, sweat, and tears with them for over a year. Granted I worked for my bonus of $9k for an entire year then all of sudden I’m getting called into HR for some BS investigation and that’s after I already had to keep meeting about my low performance almost every day in February. Company is a legit laughing stock. No written warnings no nothing. No verbal warnings. Just straight up fired, no severance package, no bonus, no unemployment because they’ll call it misconduct. Class-action coming to this company.

Pros

Okay PTO accrual Pretty office if at Marina Heights NOT A PRO BUT WANT IT TO BE SEEN: For this type of role, auto claims associate, State Farm pays less than almost any other insurance company, do not be fooled by the hourly, it's not great and if you don't reach metrics your rating is lower therefore your merit raise is lower.

Cons

There had been months of non-optional OT required making work life balance not even a thing. I don't need the OT money. I needed my mental health to get better and relayed that the OT was causing me to burn out and was told get creative and find a way to work it. I resigned. Some leadership had never done the job and were unable to help with the role, making achieving the strict metrics even harder. You are not a human, you are a number. If you can't reach the metrics then you are a poorly treated constantly micro managed number. When I was in office did not seem inclusive or diverse When getting hired you are told Auto ILR is the best position for growth but since it is constantly understaffed you can not leave the dept. Pro tip: quit and post as an external associate and you are more likely to get the promotion

Pros

Good pay, decent benefits, generally good people to work with.

Cons

The disconnect between upper management and first line leaders and claim handlers is significant. Four years after restructuring a VP admitted they had no idea there were claim reps carrying inventories of over 300 claims (not causes of loss, claims). Many people have literally just gotten up, given their notice, and walked out the door. They centralized operations (which is logical), but placed their hubs in places it can be tough to draw employees to (Atlanta, Dallas, and Phoenix), but are having trouble maintaining staffing levels, which causes more burnout...which leads to people getting up and leaving and everyone else getting stuck with their claims. They also keep rolling out programs and procedures that take more time to do the same work. Employees stand in the aisles or in the break areas and openly discuss looking for new jobs, which was unheard of ten years ago. We don't recommend the job to friends and family anymore, instead pointing them to competitors. My team are all long time employees who stay on top of their queues and get good reviews...and we agree State Farm seems intent on the ship plowing ahead despite the icebergs on all sides.
