Pros

Learning how business works, i.e. the engineering of an individuals productivity, from the bottom. Taylorism, as it is known in the MBA textbooks.

Cons

Tethered to a desk. Unhealthy to be sedentary in prime of your life. If you are not at your desk, you are not working. Phone headset, incessant ringing of phone and complaint calls most of the day. Arguing about car value and minutia of claims process over and over again. Manager reviews- either you are too slow and super thorough, or you need to speed up to make your "numbers" look good. Numbers are phone calls, initial settlements, follow ups, all tedious crap.
