Pros

Extensive Claims training that other companies value will hire you immediately. It's a pay check with benefits

Cons

Extreme micromanagement. Not treated as a person. We work to computers and not the people who are our customers. The metrics are unbearable and unrealistic. Good luck if you have a family because the workload is impossible. Overtime is often mandatory. Your work schedule changes every 6 months or less. The stress level very high. Cannot get time off when needed. Penalized if you get sick and can lose your job you exceed their designated point system. Public humiliation for not being the best in each metric category.

Pros

The pay is decent for a first time adjuster job but lower than the standard

Cons

The pay is lower than most claims adjuster positions. Management is never available when needed. Employees are on a point system and could face termination after a certain amount of call outs. I am always on time and come to work and do my job faithfully. I've recently been sick and not eligible for fmla yet and was told I still will receive points even with a doctors note. Employees do not feel valued at Statefarm and are treated like children.

Pros

Nice new office buildings. Offers pension, 401k, medical, etc. Pay is good if you've been there for a few years.

Cons

Full of weak middle level leadership and "yes" wo/men. Currently treating human beings like they're unlimited resources, as if we're machinery. Professional employees have to use a time clock hung on the wall like they use at Wal-Mart. Subjected to heavy monitoring. There's a benchmark for every type of task, regardless of how unique or complex the circumstance is. They have also spelled out every detail and not allowing anyone to do their job even slightly different from a standard process! Managed by fear. I am convinced that they have done everything they can think of to get their long-term employees to leave the company or be fired. It started with the employees being told we need to move to keep our job. Then even after moving, you had to reapply for your job. Whole departments wiped out. Thoughtless job reassignments made. Currently run by a Finance Executive that is not people oriented. Also, nepotism is a huge problem here and it's always been the biggest open secret.
