Pros

Friendly culture with a fair focus on work life balance. I don’t think anyone who is moderately competent should have to work any significant amount of overtime.

Cons

Engineering focus isn’t really as strong as could be. State Farm has a lot of really interesting problems that happen due in part to it’s scale, but the passion for finding the best engineering solutions isn’t always there across all employees in engineering.

Pros

Very relaxed Lots of potential for growth if you make the effort Great work life balance

Cons

Very slow moving and you can easily settle with not doing much work -- if you don't make the effort, your skills will stagnate but you will get by enough such that you stay hired
