Great but can go stale

Pros

Great experience for moving career forward; was given responsibilities when I requested more work, great co-workers

Cons

You can easily become a number; watched co-workers become frustrated when management pushed them to aspire for a different role that they were not interested in or suited for. As managers gained more reports, they became ego-driven and less supportive. Managers pigeon-hole you very quickly.

Pros

This position is a great learning experience if you are sincerely interested in the subject matter.

Cons

Long hours with no overtime, deliverables that need to be met by the minute, very rarely ever a chance to take a lunch break

Pros

Compensation is relatively decent and the benefits are excellent. Absolutely take advantage of the 401K matching - very generous.

Cons

You may get laid off out of the blue...or you may not. There's also a lot of "not my job" attitude and minimal praise for good work. Friends nominate friends for the "above and beyond" award.
