Pros

Steady paycheck and you know where you stand most of the time. Work life balance is pretty good and there is mellow work culture as well.

Cons

The company is quite frugal in terms of vacation days and payment of other expences. Tuition reimbursement seems less than most other companies.

Pros

-education reimbursement 100% -large company -internal mobility - you can post for a new position every year . -laid back -nice people young -good programs for mentoring and career development if you chose to take advantage. -2 paid volunteer days per year

Cons

One disadvantage is the pay is lower than average. Moving from senior to account manager most people take a pay cut because of the overtime you can get as a senior vs salary of an account manager. you have to work whenever the stock market is open.

Pros

State Street considers itself a technology provider to the financial services industry. As an IT worker this benefitted me. I got to work on some interesting projects. I picked up some new technical skills along the way. The pay was good, as were the bonuses.

Cons

In a word, bureaucracy. No work gets done without filling out the right form and having it approved by one, but more often more, levels of management. The long time employees there tended to have bad attitudes - complaining all the time. This combined with the bureaucracy tended to be a morale killer. Management had a very cavalier attitude toward night and weekend work. It was almost as if they didn't expect us to have lives outside work.
