Pros

A politically correct company that encourages promotions of women, minorities, non-US passport holders and support community philanthrophy programs.

Cons

Typical East Coast corporation. When cuts are made, it is rarely at the corporate overhead levels, too many senior officers that are away from operation centers (distant from business needs).

Pros

Good first job, way to get your foot in the door in the financial services industry. Certainly a good learning experience. Plenty of down time during the day (which can also be a weakness) to use for independent learning and development. Good amount of online training available. Recognized name. Good benefits. Very good 401(k) opportunities and vesting policy. A fairly safe company even given recent economic downturns. Senior and manager level is generally very competent and easy to approach. Located in arguably the nicest area of Boston.

Cons

Low pay compared to other companies in the industry (but also low work load and low initial expectations on job expertise, so probably the level of pay is very fair). Very high turnover. Not much challenge for creative minds. Groups seem to be "love it" or "hate it".

Pros

Vice president focus on real leadership creating an open communication environment, focus on people needs and trainning. Job environment is great and colleges are always able to help.

Cons

Some of the processes are not really computerized and a manual process is required. As any other work, once you master the operations it becomes tedious, but you have to manage to learn things from other areas.
