Pros

State Street strives for performance excellence at both the individual and organizational level. The investment themake in the personal and professional development of their people is what leads to the company's success. By also investing in the development of exciting and new technology, employees are equipped to succeed in offering clients a complete range of investment products and services.

Cons

There is limited room for advancement. Employees are not well compensated- considering the requirements for the position. It should be noted that State Street do over compensates its Officer Level Employees and does nothing to reward the non officer level employees- small raises, small bonuses and long hours.

Pros

They have decent trainging programs, faily easy to take part time classes (and they reimbruse 5k a year towards work related graduate courses), potential to learn a lot about the industry, pretty good internal mobility, and good benefits.

Cons

It really depends on the group you are in. Some groups work fairly late hours because they have to price funds. Also, there are many processes to service the funds which are automated. This can be good for work productivity, but not really for learning about the mechanics of the funds you are servicing. It can become a "button pushing" job. Many of the processes for servicing mutual funds, especially on bigger clients, are seperated which further limits learning opoortunities.

Pros

The benefits. Incredible health insurance... pay co-pay at visit & that is it.

Cons

Management. They just don't get it. Typically they come in whenever they feel like it (i.e. late), detatch themselves from their work force, & leave whenever they feel like it (i.e. early). Most managers dump their work on the people below them & take credit for the good & put blame when bad.
