Pros

Flexible schedule, paid time off is adequate after 10 years of service. Health insurance is good while working, but changes.

Cons

After 30 yrs of service, the health insurance cost is full premium ($700/month). Since the Governor changed the retirement plan and now has 3% taken out of salary to pay towards pension, the salaries decreased and so did the pensions. Also, before Governor Scott, there were "cost of living increases" (increase in salary) from time to time. I've never received a raise until 2016 (17 years working). After 30 years of service, my pension will be $2000 a month, but the health insurance will cost $700 a month. If I would have known this would have changed when I had worked for 12 years, I would never have committed to this career in my 20s.

The ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE TO WORK

Pros

I like what I do.

Cons

I have never worked with such a bunch of self-serving, uneducated, country bumpkins in my life. Fault finding, blame shifting and belittling are everyday occurrences. I have been bullied to the point of wanting to file a grievance or sue for discrimination. I hate going to work every day. I was led to believe that I would receive my first raise after my probationary period was completed satisfactorily; however, I found out in a staff meeting that employees of my agency haven't received a raise in 7 years. There are no raises - period! There is no incentive to exceed performance expectations, and there is certainly no future there. I am actively looking for another job, and I can't wait to turn in my resignation.
