Pros

Epic is a company that is reflection of thoughts and beliefs of its founder and CEO. - Judy Faulkner. The good part is based on most evidence Judy is good person, a good CEO, and a good leader for privately run, mission driven company. Epic is a company that has not only said that it treats its customers as partners but has actually shown this by actually sacrificing revenue and being transparent to its customers. The compensation is the more than adequate for a location like Madison and there are a lot of opportunities for growth and lateral movement (provided you are doing okay in your current role).

Cons

Some of the technology used (Cache) is niche and will not add to your resume. Depending on your team or project you may feel frustrated or undervalued. Saw a lot of churn during the pandemic and lost many good people.

Pros

Great place to build professional skills and learn how to manage full-time role responsibilities straight out of undergrad

Cons

No consideration for remote work and sink until you swim mentality
