- Lack of training, it is sink-or-swim
- Odd management structure, upper management roles are not clearly defined
- Heavy work load with little to no additional support
- Not-so-great benefits: Company health insurance policy leaves something to be desired, and no matching 401k
- My branch was managed by, quite frankly, the most disrespectful and abusive manager I have ever encountered in my professional career.
- High turnover rate
There is an odd chain of command at Stellar. You'll quickly find layers of corporate bureaucracy and executives with titles that don't seem to indicate what they do. VP of customer experience? They're simply upper-management and do not have anything to do with customer service.
The benefits and compensation is sub-par. Do not expect to be thoroughly trained, you will be thrown into the deep end within weeks of starting. And if you make a mistake, you will find yourself on the receiving end of extreme verbal abuse. I have seen employees exit the manager's office with tears in their eyes. I have personally had instances where I was bringing something to the attention of the branch manager, and was then cursed at and hand-waved away despite not doing anything wrong. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been had I been responsible.
By the time I had left the company, every person who had started working for the company after me had quit or was about to quit. We operated on a skeleton crew and were unable to retain employees. The company offered a bonus for aiding recruitment, but no one I worked with felt comfortable recommending a job at Stellar to others.
