Pros

Very informative classes and new trucks. They can help with renewing your cdl you been out of the truck for a while.

Cons

Fresh out of school, you get .26 per mile and hardly any miles. Your paychecks are very small compared to the loan you payback.

I am sorry that you had a poor experience. Stevens Transport is a training fleet. Unlike many of our competitors, we do understand that everyone starts somewhere and that is why we hire many people who have never driven before and put them through our extensive training program, where many others require 1-5 years prior experience. It is possible to make up to 55,000.00 in your first year and we have testimonials from students who have achieved that, but it is hard work! You may start out at .26 per mile, however you have the opportunity to increase per mile pay much quicker than other companies. It’s not just about the per mile pay either. We are the industry leader in miles per load and all of our drivers start out in our OTR fleet. A driver going coast to coast on one trip driving legally within DOT regulations, even at less per mile, can still make more than one doing many small trips in the same amount of time. This is because there is much less ‘down time’ when you are working but not driving and not earning money, such as loading, unloading and frequent detentions. Also, keep in mind that all of our equipment is NEW with the oldest truck in our fleet at only three years old before they are removed, with an average age of 13 months! These are purchased directly from the assembly line, and not base model equipment either. How does this impact your pay? It means you spend less time sitting in the yard, not making money, because the equipment is less likely to break down. We take brand new drivers and give them top of the line trucks with wi-fi, 80” Walk-in Cab Condominium, Electronic Logs, Double-Wide Sleeper Berth, Thermo-King Tripac APU, and many other features. Also, unlike many of our competitors, ALL of our drivers are paired with a counselor and a Driver Manager to help them out every step of the way, as many of them make the very large lifestyle change needed to be in this very challenging career for the first time.

Pros

The 5 years I worked there were amazing. The people were my second family but the Aaron's aren't easy to work for. They do pay very well if you prove your worth but They will push almost everything under the rug unless it directly effects them.

Cons

Nepotism. That's most of what I can say. Don't trust the executive Vice President and HR rep. I feel like the company is going to go down hill with those two.

Pros

The equipment is clean, looks good, fairly new and well maintained. The home terminal is also state of the art.

Cons

Will tell you anything to get you in the door. I was promised one thing and when I arrived I was told something else. On top of that they told me to find my own way home, 800 miles away.
