Pros

None, a few great dispatchers but few and far between

Cons

They charge you foe hundreds of $$$ in equipment needed for the job, then use loopholes to keep it even after its returned. Extremely poor management that will ignorantly argue d.o.t hos laws, call will your sleeping, on days off, or even unloading wanting to know what your doing. No real compliance dept, and will lose days of work trying to get cab cards, pm, or anything else involving legal needed paperwork. Dispatch doesnt have a clue. Driver managers seem to be able to run computers but know nothing about trucks or life on the road. You are set up to fail from day one.

It seems like you have had a rough experience! However, I did notice that you are listed as a Sand Driver in Stockdale, TX. Stevens Transport specialized in OTR Reefer loads and does not haul sand. I believe your review is under the wrong company. We wish you the very best for the future, thank you.

Pros

Excellent training program! I dare say the best in the Industry! Chance to make great pay if you work hard and stay in communication with DM and planners. Make sure you manage your fuel. Friendly staff. Great equipment! Superior safety dept. Feeling safe and knowing Stevens is not going to ask us to do anything to jeopardize our safety is what keeps me here.

Cons

The shop is a little less friendly and could communicate with drivers better. They tend to be put off by asking questions. Look we live on and depend on our trucks out here on the road to allow us to make money and stay safe. When I ask questions I either can't understand them because of accent or they give me a vague answer. I get much better service at TA or Petro. The inconsistency of different shop employees amuses me. I really have to stay on top what their doing with my truck and that is so easy. I have no problem with Pat Yarborough. But he isn't usually here when I am getting my truck worked on. Oh yeah, please up date the showers in drivers lounge. I don't feel very clean after showering in there. High school locker rooms aren't that bad.

We also take a lot of pride in our safety program as well, it is good to hear that you feel we always keep our drivers best interests in mind because safety is definitely in the forefront of many of our operating decisions. Thank you for giving us such great constructive feedback as well. I have already sent your experiences with the shop to their director. We want the service here to be the best you can receive. After all, this should be your home base and no one should take care of you better than family! As far as the showers in the driver’s lounge, good news! We are aware of that an update is needed and are considering several options moving forward. We do have very skilled housekeeping staff, however, that do clean the shower area in the driver lounge twice daily. Although dated, it is a clean and safe environment. If you have any other suggestions for us, please send them to feedback@stevenstransport.com. Our senior drivers are a very valuable resource, and we know it! We are in a state of continuous improvement and with feedback like what you spent the time giving us today, there is no where to go but up! Leaving Stevens or never to get involved with this hell bound company and staff everything these idiots are doing is wrong!!

Cons

A form of slavery, confinement,and the seem to have communication issue.this is one of the lowest of the low companies I have ever seen in nearly 30 years.under paying,and will throw their drivers under the bus in a heart beat.and for you newbies that don't know anything about the trucking business .their are bad trucking company out the far better than these hell bound idiots.stay away from these fools they are the worst in the industry.ok you been warned!

It sounds like you left on a bad note! In no way do we enslave or obligate our employees to continue to work with us. Are you are referencing our industry leading tuition sponsorship program that helps those without the initial financial resources for training obtain their Class A CDL? If that is the case, we do ask that you sign on with us for a short period of time, but you can leave at any moment and just pay back the remainder of your tuition. No strings attached! Leadership at Stevens Transport places a very high value on Driver relations. Drivers are what keep this company rolling! We are very concerned about your report of throwing drivers under the bus. We can only grow if we know where the problems exist. As far as pay, ALL of our employees, both office and drivers, are paid on a weekly basis. Our payroll is exceptionally accurate, and for our drivers we not only have a team of specialists ensuring you are paid correctly, but your Driver Manager also acts as an additional resource to work through any rare payroll issue for you while you are on the road. We take pride in taking care of our employees, because they take care of us! I am sorry that you feel this way about Stevens Transport, but we wish you the very best for your future.
