Don't do it

Pros

You get six weeks of training (riding) with someone who wants to do everything with you but train you. You get your own truck quickly after training...hopefully, if you can drive it.

Cons

They don't care about you, your family time or your full ability to operate the equipment. The staffing is rude and disrespectful across the bored and drivers get charged for everything. Getting home time is like pulling teeth, dropping them in the wrong bowl of teeth and the trying to find the right ones to take back out.

Pros

They'll teach you how to drive a big rig safely and help you obtain your cdl. Garanteed job.

Cons

After school, if you leave immediately you'll be harrassed continuously for 8k or more and threatened for immediate court appearance to be sued. Company policies cover everything except how to wipe your own arse. Some policies are blatantly dangerous, especially the procedure for going down mountains. Pay is the lowest in cdl world.

We are sorry that you had a bad experience with Stevens. At Stevens Transport, we compensate our Drivers according to miles dispatched and Stevens has been recognized as an industry leader in miles per dispatch. Our pay rates per mile are in line with, if not higher than the industry average, depending on the driver's experience. We have many experienced drivers that have been with us 10+ years. Our policies are in place to protect our drivers and our company. Drivers who choose to leave immediately following completion of our driving school may be responsible for costs associated to the training school that would otherwise be covered as part of the employment agreement.
