Pros
Good exposure to all aspects of transactions. Experience is truly what you make of it; if you try to get your hands dirty, you can, and you have the ability to sculpt a reputation for yourself even at a very junior level. Those who stand out are treated right come bonus time.
Cons
Exit opportunities can be limited - the firm tends to keep its best talent in-house and has not done much to extend opportunities outward. The analyst/associate promotion cycle (June vs. January) means that you can be in a tough position to make a decision when the time comes.
