Pros

You can make great friendships but it takes time learning who to trust.

Cons

Low pay, no hours, poor management, poor communication, total and complete favoritism. Total retaliation if you are pro union or even are caught speaking to the union rep! No employee discounts, military or senior discounts. Took away Christmas bonus. Shows ZERO appreciation. No praise, just criticism. Employees are not allowed to speak to one another. Corporate claims to be there to helop you but they are your worse enemy!

The people you work with are kind and the job itself is fine.

Cons

Strack's is the largest family grocery chain in the area and I think that it is disgraceful how little they pay their employees. Cashier's are minimum wage and the specialty departments are only a few dollars more. Plus, their insurance options are horrible.
