Pros

Flexible schedule to work around my family.

Cons

Quite chaotic, hear one thing from SRI and another from state leadership and have to mange a lot of expectations.

Strategic Resources, Inc.’s (SRI) 32 plus year of success in business is based on a strong foundation of quality processes that standardize our business operations. Many SRI employees work on-site with our Government customers. At times, this may result in Government customers and state leadership providing direction to employees, creating the appearance of chaos. However, SRI implements leadership teams, in support of each contract, to ensure clear guidance and direction is available for all SRI employees. This is reflective of SRI’s open-door policy which encourages employee communication to provide a working environment conducive of open and clear direction. When situations arise where it appears state leadership is providing different guidance, SRI employees are welcomed and encouraged to contact their leadership for guidance and clarification. We are one Team and are committed to working in partnership with all Government customer’s to ensure exceptional service is provided at all times.

Pros

Its a biweekly paycheck and there are some nice people

Cons

The office is hoarder's paradise junkyard with christian bible verse wall art. This business gets by because for some reason year after year Ms. Rose is awarded a non-compete federal contract to provide social workers to military families. There is a cult-like reverence for her for reasons I can't understand. The recruitment effort consist of calling therapist and if they have a valid license they are hired. No vetting, nothing that's it. A pretty easy gig to fulfill this contract if you ask me. There doesn't seem to be any federal oversight of her recruitment/hiring efforts for therapist. You aren't allowed to be seen with your cell phone in your hand during work, because Ms. Rose considers this goofing off. So bring a calculator. As for the bonuses, this is just Ms. Rose handing out federally awarded dollars that land in her pocket to people she likes. PS. The company car is a BMW. Go figure - your tax dollars at work.

Pros

The ability to collaborate on special projects and my research, suggestions and opinions are not only sought after and respected by my coworkers but most importantly the President and CEO. When the owner of the company is willing to roll their sleeves up and work side by side sharing their knowledge and still acknowledge you for your part means a lot to me. I believe working at SRI taught me much about quality work ethic as well some key workplace etiquette behaviors that seem to have been lost in regards to the generation of Millennials.

Cons

Remote work is not permitted, traffic in the Tysons, Mclean and Vienna areas are terrible. Office space is somewhat crowded and there's no break room to have a chill spot during your lunch hour.
