Pros

Paychecks don't bounce, Working with great military population, Fantastic co-workers, Great immediate supervisor.

Cons

Where do I begin? First of all, I would like to debunk the 401K fantasy that was mentioned in the previous review. SRI does offer a 401K but it is a "disgressionary" fund. In other words, at the end of the year the CEO decides whether any money is placed into your 401K. In the three (3) years they have held this contract, they have never ONCE put a penny into their employees 401K. Secondly, let's talk about health insurance. A family policy can run almost a $800 a month. How does that fit in with your world view of a caring, company? Moving onto salaries, this contract was won by bidding the absolute lowest possible amount. That ended up equating to many people taking a huge cut in their take home pay, a complete elimination of bonus,' and we are not going to mention raises or merit increases. The overall attitude of upper management has been punitive and self serving. Luckily, I have stayed under their radar, but upper management looks for what you are doing wrong, rather than what you do right, but you can be sure that at the same time they are making sure they are taking primo care of themselves. Education and experience are not necessarily rewarded and those who have skills which add greately to working with the population are marginalized while those who lack boundaries, who voice unprofessional attitudes are encouraged. I present this as a cautionary tale to all who are considering employment with SRI. Overall, look at the majority of reviews. Not all of us can be so wrong about our assessment.

SRI has been in business for over two decades. We originated as a company which was founded to create a different type of company servicing the employee and customers. Despite being rather large, our company operates very much like a family. Therefore, there are many good things to say about SRI. The fact that this individual's thoughts have permitted him (or her) to believe nothing positive can be said about the company goes to a lack of personal satisfaction which is unfortunate. It is not a fair evaluation to say only his negative comments are valid and therefore, all good things must be invalid. When employees are unhappy or have issues, they are encouraged to use our Open Door Policy. For this person to say he has "stayed under their radar" is tragic. It is clear this person is unhappy and it is truly unnecessary. SRI's Open Door Policy empowers employees to contact the Human Resources Department, their SRI Manager or the President of SRI. However, it is clear this person has chosen not to communicate issues of concern in order to find resolution or understanding. It is easy to write an Anonymous comment, but it takes courage to communicate concerns to mangers to take an active role in finding resolution to any concern. Therefore, while this person elects not to use the power he has been given, it does not dismiss the fact that he has it.

Pros

Salary was not horrible. Co-workers knew their job well but were reluctant to help train. Job security. As long as SRI held the contract, the workers seemed almost like they were going to die in their position.

Cons

Very hands-off as far as training, left to co-workers to do (and many refused). Supervisors/Management were some of the WORST people I have ever worked for. Never came to boost morale. The only time you heard from them was if you were going to be disciplined. Refused to go to bat for their employees and help when working conditions began to drop and morale was at an all time low.
