Toxic employees

Pros

Sales growing. Great products. Earned a quarterly bonus. Good benefits. Competitive pay. Casual dress code. Tuition reimbursement. Student loan pay down. Cafeteria. Gym. Laundry service pick-up. Basketball hoop.

Cons

There are a few older toxic employees who refuse to take part in the new cultural journey because they do not wish to reform their nasty behaviour. They posses vile temperaments and have received numerous complaints against them by other employees. Unfortunately, their managers are either new or choose to overlook their uncultured behaviour. These people ruin employee morale, deconstruct team collaboration, and frankly the place could thrive if they were replaced by more cooperative high performers. 6 Signs Your Straumann Coworker is Toxic: 1. They gossip 2. They blame others 3. They create roadblocks to disrupt your work 4. They intimidate 5. They kiss up to management to win favors at other's expense 6. They are two-faced

Thank you for your feedback. Straumann is committed to providing a competitive package (pay and benefits) for our employees so we are pleased to see some of our many benefits mentioned here and we are always looking for new ways to reward our employees. Our cultural journey embraces values such as collaboration, trust, agility and open communication. The very reason we call our transformation a “journey” is because it takes time – as does all change. We are actively coaching our employees and managers to embrace our core behaviors and we are encouraged by the progress we have made and continue to make.

Thank you for your feedback! We understand that our cultural journey may be difficult to embrace - but that is all part of the transformation. We recognize we have areas to improve and we work everyday to make changes to make our future brighter and to hold ourselves, and our teams, accountable. We believe that the true change must come over time for it to be real, and we are excited to see where we will go!

Miss my colleagues, my work and the culture

Pros

I had great colleagues and peers. Rank and hierarchy was known but rarely needed. All roles were clearly defined and (job) scope creep was almost non-existent. I had a series of good bosses in Straumann. Benefits and perks were generous and bonuses were sufficient to a couple of month's pay, once the multipliers from business kicked in.

Cons

HQ was a pain and a nuisance. Everyday at 3 pm onwards, there would be very heated discussions with HQ in Switzerland, with some "new graduate" who visited Asia on a backpacking trip after university and thinks they know how business is run in Asia. Even the Swiss in the office get into arguments with these "geniuses" in HQ. Also, Marketing is run by someone who understands high-level but cannot relate to the ground. Confuses the Sales and Marketing teams in all countries. The Marketing Head cannot inspire or sell any concept or product internally to colleagues or customers.
