Pros

Actual teaching/lecturing . Interaction with Students. Academic advisinng.

Cons

Lack of academic freedom. Transformation of a traditional academic position, with certain non-economic benefits, into a 40+ hour administerial position. Required to teach online. Required to teach from a dozen-+ page "course guide" requiring delivery of "learning outcomes" sequenced to the quarter hour. All that's needed for this position is someone competent to deliver a PowerPoint presentation. Real-world experience and quality of academic qualifications are irrelevant. Increased work load without increased compensation. Complete disregard for qualifications and background, other than meeting regulatory minimums.

Pros

Free school. That’s literally it.

Cons

This company will suck the life out of you and expect you to live and die for this job. Strayer doesn’t care about their students, they care about profit and will screw over students to make a buck. Not to mention the complete lack of company culture. Their version of company culture is having a “fun Friday” trivia once a month. So lame. Everyone hates their job here and it’s so obvious. Constant management changes and lay offs make it impossible to succeed. Everything is a competition between the managers and directors. They don’t actually care about you, they only care about themselves and will call you out for “bringing the team down”. The higher ups at this company are the most evil people I’ve ever met. This is not supposed to be a sales job, but that’s what it turned out to be.
