Pros

Working at StrongMind is a genuinely rewarding chapter in my career. The culture is built on trust—leadership empowers people to do their jobs well, without micromanagement, and that freedom creates space for meaningful creative work. We are encouraged to think boldly, experiment thoughtfully, and bring ideas forward without fear of judgment, which has been instrumental in my personal creative growth. There is a strong sense of peer acknowledgment and mutual respect. Good work is noticed, collaboration across departments is encouraged, to solve problems and build something better together. Working in education provides a deep sense of purpose—you come to work knowing that the effort you put in contributes to something bigger than yourself. There’s real moral satisfaction in collaborating with people who care about making a difference, and that shared commitment shows up in the quality of the work and the culture overall. For anyone looking for an environment that values creativity, trust, collaboration, and purpose, this is a place where you can grow and feel good about the work you do every day.

Cons

The primary challenge is the pace of change. This is a highly adaptive organization, and priorities can shift quickly—sometimes requiring you to pivot and reprioritize work at an individual, departmental, or even company-wide level. Flexibility is essential. That said, these shifts are intentional and rooted in staying aligned with evolving technology and the needs of those we serve. For those who are comfortable in a fast-moving environment, this adaptability becomes a strength and an opportunity for continued growth.

Wow 😭 Thank you for putting words to what we’re building here! Hearing that trust, creative freedom, and psychological safety are showing up in real ways (especially for creative work) means a lot. That’s the goal and we’re so glad it’s being felt. The callout around purpose and impact is everything. Education is heart work, and it matters that people feel connected to the why, not just the deliverables. When mission creativity respect align, the work just hits different. You’re also right about the pace. We move fast, we pivot, and it’s not always comfy 😅 but we’re intentional about staying aligned with where technology and learners are headed. Flexibility is part of the deal, and for the right people, it becomes fuel for growth. We have lots of good ideas but we are not afraid to ditch them for the right ideas. Your advice to leadership is heard loud and clear too! Listening deeply, creating space for honest dialogue, and making it safe to speak up isn’t optional, it’s foundational here. We’re committed to protecting that trust as we continue to grow. So grateful for you, your perspective, and the care you bring to the work 💚 -Noelle Creamer Chief People Officer

Pros

StrongMind is a truly mission-driven organization where student success is at the center of everything. People care deeply about the work, the students we serve, and each other. The culture is supportive, collaborative, and values kindness, trust, and authenticity. Coworkers are passionate, smart, and generous with their time and knowledge. There’s a strong sense of shared purpose and pride in what we’re building together.

Cons

As a smaller company, there can be resource and capacity constraints, and people often wear multiple hats. These challenges are strongly balanced by a culture of collective support, teamwork, and people stepping in for one another, along with wellness-focused benefits and flexibility that help prevent burnout and sustain long-term health.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful 4-star review! 💛 We’re incredibly grateful you’ve been part of the StrongMind journey for so many years. You’re absolutely right...at times, we are wearing multiple hats as we figure things out and move forward together. What makes that possible is our people! We’ve gone through meaningful shifts as an organization, and through it all, we’ve stayed deeply committed to growing and building something that truly lasts. Our team is (and always will be) our greatest asset. The way we show up for students, for each other, and with our values front and center is what makes StrongMind truly special. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and for choosing to be a part of what we’re building. -Noelle Creamer Chief People Officer

What a nice review! Thank you for choosing to be with StrongMind for so many years 💛 You nailed it with our culture, creativity, and collaborative spirit...our people are truly what make this place special. You’re also right to note the challenges we’ve experienced in the past. We’ve been very intentional about investing time, energy, and resources into strengthening our infrastructure. While that work isn’t always easy (or instant 😅), it’s a major focus! We’re committed to building systems that better support our people and our mission for the long-term. -Noelle Creamer Chief People Officer
