Pros

Great Company, great products, great people. Can do anything Culture. Great benefits and comp packages.

Cons

IT as a service concept has destroyed IT for the companies internal customers. H1B Visa holders have displaced US IT workers that built/ran the systems that grew the company. Most IT work is sent offshore to India now.

Pros

Salaries are competitive Good vacation policy - and you will need the break!

Cons

_ RIDICULOUS amount of office politics - lots of backstabbing in senior management - Extremely stressful work environment - be prepared to work and work and work, it's never enough -Lousy communication and lots of micromanaging -Human Resources is never on your side - this includes local HR as well as senior level HR in Corporate (which by the way is a joke). They never try to get both sides of any story, nothing remains confidential, and they don't inform you of any issues that are occurring -They allow too much to be swept under the rug and they don't investigate issues you're having unless you're a manager. If you tell them about a problem or inappropriate situation it falls on deaf ears -People play games to get to the top and they will throw you under any bus to get ahead -Tons of lying and talking behind backs -The environment here is very similar to junior high school, it's gossip gossip gossip - lots of infidelity going on too -Unprofessional - let managers get away with bad mouthing former employees or people who still work for Stryker but are now in a different department. What kind of company thinks that's okay?

Pros

Met some great people there. (but eventually they all moved on.) A goood stepping stone to enter the Medical Device business and network. Good benefits in comparison to similar companies including vacation.

Cons

Not very cohesive and well structured. Salaries are not competitive here particularly in a high cost of living area. Moving to a similar position in another company and lower cost region can increase your net income by 50%. Unqualified management: individuals very often get thrown into management based on ability to talk the talk! No accountability for unprofessionalism at the management level and technical abilities are not given much credit here so you often have the blind leading the blind. Managers in technical positions don't always have the technical skills or much experience in the roles that they supervise and cannot perform in an advisory role. They are nothing more than project managers. Very high stress environment and this is evident in the high turnover. Teams have completely turned over and left the company in a short space of time and Human Resources doesn't take any interest or seem to care to do anything about it. No accountability for individual responsibilities or signatures. Upper management often doesn't know any better when presented with a proposal or document.
