Pros

A lot of resources. Up tempo work environment. Good place to start orthopedic career. Decent benefits. Opportunity to make a lot of money if given a good territory.

Cons

Very poor management (LA Branch). Pay could be better for the amount worked. Ridiculous quota standards with limited management assistance. Horrible work life balance.

Pros

Comp can be attractive if you work hard and catch a few breaks. Tough industry in general. Really takes a unique individual to succeed.

Cons

Stryker expects more of their sales reps than any of the other competitors. This is evident everywhere... Stryker gets more done with fewer reps. Sometimes I think they forget how lucky they are to have some of the individuals they do.

Alameda Divison

Pros

Salary and benefits are good. Flexible schedule and good work-life balance.

Cons

A lot of politics! This Division used to be good until employees from the Mahwah location were suspiciously promoted to management roles and relocated to Alameda. They require you to spend most of your days in meetings to discuss what you will be discussing in future meetings and as soon as you leave the meeting, you email one another to discuss the meeting you just left. Former employees still keep in touch with some members of management. The reason why this is bad is because management share confidential information such as future business plans, firings, lay-offs before they even occur. So these former employees end up looking like the modern Nostradamus. Some of the women there can be real catty unless if you're upper management and they're attempting to get a "raise" out of you.
