Pros

Great place to work with like minded people, who share the same general work styles, thanks to the interview process. The focus on engagement and development is unlike most other companies. Your Manager actually wants to talk about what you do next, and will help you to connect to mentors and work on projects that will get you there. Outside of the highly motivated, competitive employees and day-to-day work style, Stryker takes the time to have fun. Basketball tournaments, volunteer events, massages at work, on-site fitness teams and consultants, Stryker cares about you.

Cons

People at Stryker believe in doing whatever it takes to follow through on promises, this means that there are times when long work days/weeks will come up. People who are willing to work for more than just money, but what the company believes in and a great motivation are a must. Stryker is also very decentralized, which can make cause for some inconsistency between divisions, luckily Corporate does a pretty good job of making sure this isn't destructive to the overall Stryker Culture.

Pros

Great management team, fair policies. Nice amount of independence and little to no micromanaging the sales force. Good pay and benefits. I felt like my opinions and suggestions were heard and valued.

Cons

My division was acquired by stryker in 2009. I was surprised at how long the transition took to become a more integrated part of the company. The R&D portion of my division was slow and inadequate.

Pros

You do learn a lot and do receive the support to grow however, there is limited professional growth. Occasional off-sites. Benefits are okay.

Cons

A TON of favoritism. Unless you are kissing someone's butt you will not get anywhere. Pay is BELOW average and living in the silicon valley you are basically poor. Upper Management does not care about the entry level positions. I always see employees who only been there less then a year get promoted but people that been there for several years stuck in the same position. Supervisors are basically employees who haven't been there for a long time yet they somehow know everything to get to that point. If you hold an hourly position, you STILL have to clock in which their actual hand scan who does that these days? Their technology/program is sadly outdated and lots of flaws within their own system.
