Pros

The people are the best reason to work for Stryker. Almost everyone I have interacted with in my two years has been a phenomenal person, and everyone seems to look out for one another. The benefits are also quite good, namely the tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Nothing worth mentioning so far.

Pros

Nice salary and benefits. Interesting client base. Some interesting products that can make a real difference in the lives of patients.

Cons

The sales force drives everything. The marketing role is essentially sales support. Senior management is not built on talent but on longevity within the Stryker organization. The manufacturing is located in France which adds a great deal of complexity when it comes to getting things done on time.

Pros

Stryker is full of young employees. The great thing about this is it means there are a lot of opportunities for out of work activiites with your co-workers. Also Stryker is a n aggressive results driven atmosphere. So the majority of people you will work with are very highly motivated and competent. Expectations at Stryker are clearly defined, most employees have 2-3 goals that they are evaluated on. If you do well at these goals then you are in a stron position for a promostion or salary increase. Finally, it is a high growth company so opportunities are very plentiful.

Cons

Because the employee pool is so young it is also pretty immature. If you have a family you will find that the environment is not as family friendly as you may l ike. Compensation is also very low. The company hires based off of "strengths" and not on experience so that they can retain low compensation levels. Theoretically, you prove yourself at Stryker and earn a more realistic compensation level. However, most people do not last more than a few years and never really reach a level where they are adaquatly compensated. Finally, the focus is so heavily on reaching growth numbers that the long term is compromised.
