Pros

There will never be a shortage of work. Many try to make a name for themselves by taking on additional responsibilities but recognition and benefits aren't proportional.

Cons

Stryker breeds misogynistic corporate culture at all levels of the organization but particularly in the sales force. The company prides itself on recruiting the best (looking) and brightest (smiles) from every fraternity and sorority in the Midwest and the social culture greatly reflects that. The interview process is cumbersome and a horrible example of professional profiling aimed at finding the perfect cog for the machine. Employees are vastly underpaid compared to the rest of the medical device industry and significantly overworked, typically filling multiple roles at once. The leadership chooses to maximize profits via patchworking the quality system and creating business units like procare for product service contracts rather than eliminating root causes of device failures. The sales force has always been the driving force for this organization, with quality and device engineering taking a distant and often overlooked role.

Pros

Honest, hardworking team. Good company culture. Committed to doing the right thing.

Cons

They shut down my team and could have done a better job of placing us within the company. Too many internal cliques cause somewhat unfair limits to career growth. Stryker is not quite a meritocracy.
