Pros

If I had to pick one reason why I've stayed here as long as I have, it's that the company really has managed to keep the startup culture that anyone can find a way to add value anywhere, even as it's grown. I've been an engineer, a PM, an analyst, and now I lead Data Science and AI Ops, with Systems Engineering reporting into me too. There's no shortage of opportunities at big tech in the Bay Area and I have many friends who have gone there. Great perks, nice offices, but you quickly get pigeonholed into whatever role is on your business card. At Study.com, you can join as a developer and your product or marketing ideas are taken just as seriously as your engineering architecture ideas.

Cons

I miss the old office. We get to all be in the same building now, which is great, but parking is now uncovered, so my car gets hot during the day and I have to wash it more. Also it's more of a commute for me. And Downtown Mountain View just had better restaurants for lunch and nice quiet neighborhoods for the occasional afternoon walk. But it's just an office. The company culture and the work itself are more important to me.
