Pros

It was a fun place to work before the acquisition. There was good benefits, lunch once a week and you felt like you made a differance.

Cons

After the acquisition the new company had an unrealistic view of employement in Silicon Valley. The benfits were subpar and no stock options were given. It never felt like the employees were valued by the parent company.

Pros

It used to be a fun place to work until recently got acquired. New owners are cheap and have no idea how to manage teams and keep presence in silicon valley. Every one has left the company, only literally few engineers and support team left. I do not even know how long will they stick around. some perks are listed below. - Monday Breakfast - Wednesday sweet treats - Friday Lunches - Fully stock Kitchen - Ping pong and foosball table - Out door team activities

Cons

- No Kaiser for insurance - No Work from home policy - If you want a promotion, you manager's word is not enough. you have to prove it again by filling out paper work. What a waste of time - No equity - HR needs to more training on how to deal and welcome new employees - New CEO has only vision for Money, no care for employees - Everyone has left the company now, not sure how will they keep up with this product and how long will it work like that.

Train Wreck of a Company

Pros

- Interesting core technology - Hard technical challenges, opportunities for learning - Decent benefits for a startup - Operations team is very good

Cons

- New CEO Mike Grossman has been a strong negative. Many employees have left under his tenure and the company is worse off as a result. - Grossman has hired/promoted friends and former colleagues, and some (but not all) of them have had questionable qualifications for their roles. - The new management structure has led to politics and empire building among the managers at the company, even though they publicly talk about honest and openness. - All the talk about "values" seems to be a smokescreen: the management team does not actually live up to to the standards they promote. - It doesn't seem like there is a place for this company in the market. The competition is very strong and better funded. In the big picture, it's hard to see a positive future for SugarSync other than an acquisition. And it's not clear who would want to buy the company, especially since a large number of key people have left. I don't think keeping the former CEO would necessarily have saved the company, but Grossman has not helped.
