For the most part they promote from within. However, this sometimes clouded their vision. Sometimes you just have to hire somone to fill a warehouse or delivery driver position. They were constantly hiring trying to find the next "star" of the company and sometime left holes where they just needed a solid employee. Also, they recently hired a consultant that supposedly reviewed business practices and made recomendations for some pretty radical changes including pay structure. However, people at the branch level never got to talk to these people. Also, the lack of a commision for the inside sales people sometimes contributed to some complacency.
