Pros
Large company but small company feel. A majority of employees have worked at Sun Chemical for many years with hopes of retiring from the organization. Human resources is very helpful in answering questions and the benefits are good for the industry. Work hours are flexible which is helpful for the many commuters that have a longer drive. Facilities are generally clean, typical of manufacturing, and safety is exercised and stressed. Being new on board not sure what type of work culture is but can adjust and looking forward to working here for many years to come.
Cons
Training, at least in my department, is minimal, probably depends on your manager. The many computer software systems require a lot of work to start up, get access and passwords, which require individual contacts to IT and off-site third party assistance. If you are an independent and knowledgeable worker, you will do fine, otherwise it is easy to get lost and have set backs. Department is in the process of building the team and will require patience as things get settled.
