Pros

80 hours in 9 days work schedule. Annual bonus based on company success. Easy to commute to Center City Philadelphia Fairly open communication from the CIO, Business casual dress.

Cons

No opportunities for advancement No training, conferences, books to maintain/enhance skills. Re-org, downsizing, sales of divisions and outsourcing of IT loom over your head on a daily basis. Pension plan discontinued. Annual bonus only when the company does well as a whole - and they haven't been lately. Like to play the "Manager" shuffle, with no regard to competencies. Mixed messages about the direction of the company from the CEO.

Pros

Salary for managers is above average. Customers and employees are nice to work with.

Cons

Company does not care about the employees. Put a large number of stores up for sale 3 times since the mid 80's putting 1200 to 1800 employees out of work at a time.Payed salary for 48 hours- work week is 55 to 65 hours per week. Store budget cut so low all the work can not be done and store starts falling apart.
