6 day work weeks, terrible support from upper management

The company has brilliant goals and decent pay.

Cons

But fail to understand that in order to reach those goals we require more support in the frontlines. We as general managers work ridiculous hours, 6 days a week, no holidays off. There is no work life balance. They expect so much with so little labor to support the growing company's needs. No support from upper management. Recent micro managing techniques completely strip general managers of all control. Don't even think of requesting a weekend off. Be ready to work 60-70 hour weeks. They claim that your work day is 6am-4pm Monday-Friday and half a day Saturday 6am-12pm... unfortunately that is not so at all..

Pros

Fortune 500 company. Great benefits. Brand new office in beautiful park setting. Great office. Usually provides extended three day weekends before major holidays.

Cons

Terrible management. Manager of department has no people skills, hidden agendas, poor communicator. She has had no training managing people. Back stabbing environment. Rather than provide proper training saves up constructive criticism for weeks then unloads. Not a stable person. May have a substance abuse problem.

Pros

Good schedule in which I don't work most weekends and can make all my kids games. Also get payed every week.

Cons

Poor management. Some employees do nothing and get all recognition. Promise of promoting and never see it. Work load is crazy high but not enough people or hours to do the work. Manager always complains about stuff not getting done but never enforce anything.
