Pros

Spending time with the senior population

Cons

This company does not hire quality professionals to run their buildings or care for their residents. The food quality served to the residents is EXTREMLEY POOR. The residents are allotted such a low dollar amount per day for food, it is a disgrace. The low salaries and hourly wages they pay their staff limits the talent they are able to get into their buildings b/c people with educations are not valued in this Sunrise Culture. When they do get good people- they eventually leave b/c of the overwhelming number of unqualified people running this whole mess. It becomes a vicious cycle of turn around bc problmes are never addressed and solved when they arise, they are placed on the back burner and again it cycles. My experience here has been a negative one- each day filled with more sales calls where more lies are circled amoungst all the area management, ED's and DCR's.

Pros

Loved the interact with the residents & their families. Most employees were very nice to work with. Enjoyed planning activities with the residents.

Cons

Low pay for all the duties the job required. Always understaffed. Would call me on my days off & after I just got home from work to ask if I could work someone elses shift. Management wasn't caring enough with employees. Employees constantly written up for things not against company policy.

Pros

Sunrise hires some of the coolest, nicest, most competant people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The residents are a blast, the families are great, and your coworkers will be nice, funny, and hardworking. They provide paid training and cheap food, along with tuition assistance and other good benefits at the 90 day mark.

Cons

There are loooooong, slow periods where nothing happens, especially on weekends. Be prepared to be bored in between the crazy periods when it feels like everything is happening at once.
