Pros

Recreation is like a little family Get to help families make fun memories Working outside in beautiful area Loved working with children when Fort Funnigan was there Employers (recreation department) always care about their employees and go out of their way to show how much they appreciated me when I worked there. New ideas were always welcome Fun atmosphere and co-workers Management listened and helped solve problems when they arose right away Felt very capable and "empowered" when working with guests

Cons

Department heads seem to have problem when communicating to each other when working on same event (guest experience would suffer) When the resort changes something big ("Tradition" times; building changes such as Fort Funnigan removal) they don't communicate to the public well and some guest can get angry for not being told ahead of time (had this happen several times)- leaves employees and guest wondering why the change.

Pros

Fair compensation and flexible schedule. Great employee perks (gym/facilities access, discounts ect.) Wonderful people.

Cons

booking system for therapists is great in the summer season when there is plenty of bookings. In the winter it is not uncommon to be schedules for several 5 hour shifts a week and never get called in for an appointment unless you are in the top of the booking priority so you need to have supplemental steady reliable work elsewhere.
