Pros

If you want to work for a company that is always the first to market, then Supermicro is your company. They have products that are on par or better than their competitors along with usually being less than the competition's.

Cons

Utterly amazing how much "paperwork" it takes to do anything. And they keep adding additional steps to what should be simple processes just because they don't trust their employees or mid-management. Everything needs to have the CEO's approval to move forward. And so employees are conditioned to not help make their company better because of countless public ridicule sessions.

Pros

Job security is the main pro as there have been no layoffs during the company's entire existence. That's really about it.

Cons

Terrible benefits (for example 10 vacation days/year no matter how long you work there), little room for growth, not an equal-opportunity employer, unorganized workplace with a glaring lack of procedures, little confidence in direction of company.

Pros

It is quite an opportunity for anyone to learn about hardware design and manufacturing. You have the opportunity to work with various hardware/(software) departments on issues and understand how to resolve.

Cons

Bad, very bad management here. Basically, managers have no leadership skills at all. Pretty much whatever goes and resolve when problem arised. No planning and organization at all for such public medium size company. Pretty much chinese style management and conservative ideaology.
