Toxic Work Culture

Pros

Working at Supermicro will teach you several valuable lessons in how to navigate a toxic workplace environment, but it will not be fun. A few people here are kind and approachable, but the majority are not.

Cons

The work culture here is toxic, characterized by fetishization of overwork. There's an alarming glorification of long hours, and people try to stay in the office long and get noticed. If you take a vacation, people will comment on it unfavorably. A blatant discriminatory culture favors certain employees based on language you speak and where you are from, creating a deeply unfair workplace. The less said about the HR department the better as they are completely useless and don't care about the employees. Some people in senior and director roles are so incompetent, it is surprising. If they ever join another company in the same industry like Dell, HPE or Lenovo, they would be laughed off from a mile away. Some employees engage in outright abusive behavior, and the leadership's response is appalling. Especially those that have stayed at the company for long and have good support from management tend to treat everyone else horribly while keeping their leadership and management oblivious to their true character. There's a monopolization of information among teams, which hampers effective collaboration. This lack of transparency breeds an environment of distrust and inefficiency. Multiple teams often duplicate efforts and waste resources. The management including CEO like multiple teams working on the same thing. Maybe they think this is a strategy to ensure success with redundancy but this often leads to infighting and a whole lot of stupidity.

Pros

An Apple with full of worms.

Cons

Worst Management using Power Harassment, Warned, Threatening, making Toxic & Political working environment and Micromanage culture. Not respected local Labour Employment Act and practiced own Company's conduct and the elements of duress against employees. Work late is the priority of performance assessment.

Pros

Great company to work for. I am a firmware engineer to work on issue resolution at first. Later, I was able to join AI Development. Because of my strong network connection, I was able to work on Business Development to leverage customers. These days, I was selected to join our new product, DCBBS (Data Center Building Block Solutions) Team to expand our company's territory. Great management team! Great colleagues! Great benefits! Great working environment to allow me to grow. Really feel blessed to work here not only for the great benefits, but I also already got two bonuses in cash/stock a year and one raise in salary every year. Lots of gift cards, celebration, teambuilding event, and professional trainings.

Cons

The parking is the major concern for all buildings. Company keeps growing and acquires lots of buildings. The commute between buildings is another issue for face-to-face meeting (online meetings are okay most of time though). One more problem is that the conference rooms are enough.

Pros

Sometimes have good staff meals. Always have OT available if you into that.

Cons

Bad working environment and working culture. Like, it's actually horrendous. I was training a new guy and suddenly he became my supervisor just because he speaks Chinese. Overall this working culture is not for me. Where your performance and knowledge don't matter. As long as you bow your head and listen then you will be treated well. I don't like that at all.

Pros

Free breakfast, good starting job, stable

Cons

Very micromanaged, always OTs if you work in manufacturing setting, no work-life balance, they work you until you slaved, low-pay, too much dramas, very little chance to be promoted unless you work x amount of years, hr doesn’t give 2 cents about you, PTOs are only 10 days, manager question you when you are sick and want to use PTOs, the list goes on and on, just read over the comments here and you will realize how bad this company has become besides their stocks. Extreme Toxic working environment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
