Pros

SurePayroll has a small-company feel with corporate-level capabilities. The company was acquired by a larger Corporation in the same field, but SP is essentially left to its own devices, which allows for a lot of flexibility in terms of budgets and projects, while retaining a small-business feel and intimacy.

Cons

Naturally, since it's still a smaller business, promotions are, well, lacking. Departments are small and there's not a lot of upward movement. People really like working at SP, so they tend to stick around for a while.

Pros

The other CSRs are good to work beside because they all have the same attitude that the job is terrible, the company is a joke, and management has no idea what is going on.

Cons

CSRs are treated the worst out of the entire company. The office manager is given more respect then the people who are dealing with customers. The company also believes in 'Baptism by Fire', which is ok in some situations, but not when you are launching new technologies and systems that have to work in order for people's employees to get paid and have their taxes reported properly. The company also knows about all the issues they cause and problems the new software creates for its customers, but they very rarely acknowledge it. Instead of informing customers that they should be aware they might have an affected payroll, the company makes the CSRs lie to the customers and tell them they will fix it and it won't happen again (which is a lie). CSR Supervisors are also a joke. They spend most of their time ignoring the phone and trying to go behind their team's back to get someone in trouble. The turnover is extremely high-- which is why they are always hiring in that department.

Pros

Benefits are decent, although they started using United which did not cover anything. 401k is ok Ok base salary, about average Payroll guy is really helpful if you have questions

Cons

Micromanage you to death No room for growth Quotas were outrageous Comp plan never stayed consistant, so we made less and less money every quarter Management is so lost, especially in sales- had 4 managers in 3 years Payroll system often has technical errors so you get a million calls from current customers telling you that you are responsible, because you sold it to them. Customer Care couldn't care less No time off during Xmas, because 4th quarter is the biggest time in payroll Bought out by Paychex which is the worst payroll company to deal with Deal with a lot of tax notices, because tax team are not certified tax professionals
