Pros

Sutherland operates in a tough industry and head been doing this for a while. Very strong financial controllership. There are some great leaders who are trying to push the limits. It's generally a fair place with decent employee benefits. VPs & above get good perks...

Cons

While the entire BPO industry itself struggles with margins & being ahead of automation, Sutherland felt like an average company that is just reacting and behind the innovation curve. It's leadership prefers a bureaucratic culture. (One had to submit airline-boarding passes in addition to 4/5 levels of approval for a business trip...) No one can define an overarching culture and the word "execution" gets thrown around a lot as it's proxy... Everyone is just firefighting There are a few nonmoving inventory in leadership that no one seems to do anything about. It's not a bad place, just not an inspiring one. It will just be a job @ Sutherland. Don't expect more.

Pros

Easy to get a job

Cons

Treated like a machine: it is made abundantly clear that they are about process and technology: humans are replaceable and a burden to them, even though they are the center of their business. Cronyism: Mid and Upper management sleeping with employees, drugs in the offices, friends (including HR) protecting them, special privileges and protections for the "in" crowd. Fraud: Cheating to bill clients more money for hours not really worked, manipulating reporting, phone logs, Queues, etc.. Completely cut ALL employee recognition programs. Front line managers actually pitched in from their pockets to buy their teams lunches (they don't make enough to be asked to do this) Reduced compensations across the board month after month, stopped matching employee donations to charity, no 401k matching, terrible insurance. Staff is in constant fear of losing their jobs or retaliation from autocratic middle and upper management.
