Pros

-Really smart, kind, skilled medical staff -Great patient care (given in spite of the obstacles) -Team mentality, for the most part (depending on your shift)

Cons

-Turnover in administration leads to ever increasing, conflicting, and unnecessary rule changes (I've had more managers than I can count on two hands in the last 7 years) -Re-hiring +/- promotion of unprofessional, even incompetent and dishonest, people to both administrative and bedside roles. Watch your back. -All stick, no carrot atmosphere -Favoritism/nepotism -Training and education are non-existent -Breaks? LOL. You'll be lucky if you get one but you'll have to jump through hoops and get scolded if you don't pretend you did. -Reliance on temporary/traveling staff: I stopped learning new coworkers' names when we got a traveler administrator; what's the point? They don't stick around. Expect to be asked to train them, though. -Pay and benefits have stalled which is a problem in the most expensive city in the country (unless you don't live here. See: traveling staff problem). WELCOME TO CPMC!!! :)

Pros

- You have an hour lunch - Room for advancement - Anyone can get hired here (This can be a con for others that want to take their job seriously)

Cons

- They have a broken internal system (Departments don't communicate with each other, leaving the sick patients having to spend hours on the phone trying to fix their billing and registration issues on their own) - Recruiting spends time leaving BS reviews in glass door, indeed, eft.. - Patient Satisfaction is not their top priority. Meeting the call metrics is #1. - Those that they hire for leadership lack knowledge to help the call floor and lack leadership/people skills - You have an Average Handle Time that you have to adhere to with each call. Management will come out of their offices to see pressure you to take more calls instead of offering help to you and the patient. - Growing company that has A LOT of issues. Save your time and effort for a place that will give you the tools you need to be successful.
