      CPMC - The best place to work in the bay area?

      Good salary and benefits - and for the most part a decent and caring staff that worked well with each other -

      Cons

      CPMC is big on tooting its own horn about what a great place it is to work - management is often clueless and worse - ethically challenged and not always honest - a not for profit hospital that is all about profit -

      There was always ample work to go around, not always well delegated, but that does make for job security. Some systems definely were current, other need update

      Cons

      Old boys network at play in upper management chambers even though several prominent women have succeeded by being very compliant.

      Pros

      Hospital is filled with highly intelligent and capable people and most everyone is willing to help out. If you have the drive to work hard, there are always new places to grow into.

      Cons

      If you are looking to grow in your career, there is little invested into developing leadership. Most management and directors have been with the organization for a number of years and aren't likely to move up or out. Senior management is more likely to hire from outside than internal.
