Pros

Minimal to free expense for health insurance to it’s employees and dependents

Cons

Too many to mention but ill do my best to enumerate below: 1. Pay is not competitive even with yearly pay raise. RNs get paid like low 50s with a lot of experience 2. Unrealistic workload expectations by management (But will question employees for being on overtime). Managers try to persuade staff to minus hours in timecard if we do not follow, they put us in to performance improvement plan and try to get us fired 3. If we complaint of unfair scheduling or any other bias treatment manager say because “We are not union” 4. Charting on weekends are NOT paid 5. On-call role is equivalent to seeing patients that was overflow from the morning shift (They only pay less than $10 when on standby) 6. We are required to work 6 days a week, every other week. Again, managers says “because we are NOT union” 7. They are cheap. They try to save money from small little things such as supplies and equipments. Literally, they buy the cheapest of the cheapest 8. They force us to take patients who does not need or do not qualify for home health services as long as we complete the 5 visits needed 9. Clinicians on the fields will get phone calls from patients or other medical staff as typically no one in the office wants review or answer any questions. Clinicians in the fields are also very busy duh 10. Drive time to and from the labs are taken into considerations when counting the hours worked 11. Typically, there are 5 visits a day. It can we 2 starts of care, and 3 routines, recert, discharge or resumptions 13. They make us call the patients to schedule appointments at the end of the day for the following day’s visit. Again, a way to save money because we are off the clock 14. In the event of SOC and ROC, we should read the H&Ps at night. Of course it is not paid 15. They require us to make a weekly projectile schedule for case managers which is not paid And.. many other sneaky moves.. I’m too tire to type If you are okay with some of this then, SCAH is right for you
