      Excellent job with great pay

      Pros

      Per diem employees get a 25% differential in pay in exchange for no benefits, but can still use the 403B retirement fund. Training was excellent and I have felt supported by my peers and leadership while learning the job.

      Cons

      Only 8 hour shifts are available for inpatient case managers but the workload can be impossible leaving the next day's staff with leftover work.

      Pros

      The position offered a lot of flexibility and a lot of independent work. The work itself was requiring a lot of creativity and use of logic, lot of problem - solving, report building, workflow analysis, all which was very rewarding in my case.

      Cons

      Very wide range in pay amongst people doing the exact same job. That was highly discouraging. Also, no option for further education and improvement of skills and upward mobility. Basically, this job was 'end of the line' at Sutter.

      The doctors are great and give you a lot of attention. They teach you if you want to learn.

      Cons

      Sometimes you feel like you are working much harder and getting paid not as much as you should be.
