Pros

Overall SPS is a great company they have good benefits and try to promote an awesome culture. They encourage new ideas and recognize employees for their hard work. The culture is awesome and I really love my team!

Cons

I think the salaries could be a little more competitive compared to other healthcare providers in the area. There are definitely training issues in the patient service center, in my department we get an extreme amount of misdirected calls and it doesn't seem like the Utah and Sacramento offices are coming together to try and solve the issues. And lastly unfortunately for me the department I am in there is a lot of favoritism being shown but I see very positive experiences in other departments so I don't think it's the norm around SPS

Thank you for your feedback! Alignment between California and Utah is important and will be a continuous focus. It takes a village to make things work and we need team effort and support to ensure this happens successfully. I encourage you to have open dialogue with your supervisor/manager to address areas of opportunity (i.e. misdirected call volume) so that together, we can find ways to improve the patient experience. I am concerned about your comment regarding favoritism; if you would like to confidentially discuss this with me, please contact me. Sincerely, Carla Alegado alegadcb@sutterhealth.org; 916-854-6655

Pros

Great culture of positive thinking people. I joined Sutter because in grad school we looked at Sutter for examples on industry standards. It really is a great place to work.

Cons

Sutter time. I guess since Sutter has worked so hard to develop standards in place, it takes a longer time for new ideas to take effect.

Thanks for sharing your voice! Creating a great culture is something that we put a lot of focus on here at SPS and we are happy to hear that it's paying off! I can appreciate your comment about new ideas taking a long time to take effect. Collaboration and buy-in are key components of our culture here at SPS and therefore, decisions can sometimes take a while. Sharing your ideas and your voice is a key agent to change so continue to do so with your leaders. Feedback is key to making improvements. To address your comment about remote working – we have several pockets of our organization that currently telecommute. If you think you/your team would benefit from telecommuting, I encourage you to share this idea with your supervisor/manager so that he/she can investigate whether this is something that could be formally adopted. There are several requirements from a compliance and security perspective that would need to be researched. Sincerely, Carla Alegado

Pros

Sutter Physician Services is a great place to work! The organization demonstrates how much their employees mean to them by offering great medical benefits, 401K/403B employer matching, company sponsored healthy workplace activities such as softball, dodgeball, and basketball, and an active Employee Appreciation Committee that is constantly using fun activities to reward employees for their hard work. Our Experience of Work scores are always in the top percentile, and for an organization this size, that is saying a lot! There is also great upward mobility for those who are dedicated and work hard. I started as an entry level operations focused employee and was promoted to my team's supervisor in less than three years. Lateral mobility is also welcomed. When I showed an interest in moving to analytics, I was able to find a position that allowed me to grow and develop strengths that I did not even know I had!

Cons

There is not much I would view as negative. We are working on shifting our culture from supporting multiple medical groups to "One Sutter." Generally, SPS is flexible, but there can be some teams where employees are more resistant to new ideas than others. These are few and far between.

Thank you for your review! Definitely working towards the "One Sutter" goal will continue to be a worthwhile challenge. It will take collaboration, teamwork, and heart -- and together, we can all make a difference to improve the patient experience. #DoWorkThatMatters Sincerely, Carla Alegado
