Pros

Despite my short tenure with SPS, I have found the staff one of the most engaging and motivated group with whom I've had the privilege to work. The atmosphere and facilities are first rate, designed to foster creativity of mind, accessibility of management and wellness of spirit. Coming to work here has been the best experience over the last eight years of my career. Many companies talk of feedback and development, SPS practices it.

Cons

The leadership team is one of the real strengths of SPS, however as the company is expanding more leaders are needed to help mentor and model for those who are joining the Sutter Team and growing within the company. If you are engaging, ambitious, provide excellent customer service and have such skills and experience to help mold leaders, you'll quickly find a purpose and a place among our staff.

What a great feeling to have - to be able to come to work and feel like you are part of a team that is engaged and motivated to do work that really matters. Walking the talk takes a lot of work and I'm glad to hear that you are experiencing the fruit of our labor.

Pros

I am a bit of an anomaly in the health care industry ( or any industry these days) as a long-time employee. In my 21 years with Sutter Health, I have seen many changes in health care and am always impressed by the unremitting commitment to its not-for-profit mission accomplished through smart business practices. There is a demonstrated commitment to promoting from within and developing talent. My experience has included 3 different "careers" in my tenure with this company and I continue to feel valued and supported in my work. In spite of reducing reimbursements and higher costs, the innovation and shared best practices culture has resulted in high quality health care delivered across the organization.

Cons

Outside of technology, I'm not sure there is any industry that has experienced as many changes as health care so these comments are likely to resonate with anyone working for a health care system in the US today. I see inconsistent commitment to a strong physician strategy. Some of the local markets have strong relationships with the local provider community while others have virtually no strategy and therefore, weak relationships. Physicians are a fickle bunch but they are the key to sustaining and growing a diverse health care operation.

Pros

This company values their employees. I worked there for 4 years and loved it in the Finance department. Every month they would select an employee of the month and recognized your hard work.

Cons

The con is that work can be monotonous. Also there is a lack of training. You need to be proactive and self sufficient to get work done.

Thank you for your review! Your comment about how the work can be monotonous is fair. I think this can happen when organizations continue to grow and the work becomes more specialized and focused.
