Pros

Memorial pays slightly better than Doctors Medical Center, that is the only pro here. Truthfully, I wouldn't even give this place a pro, but glassdoor requires 20 words in each category.

Cons

Unprofessional managers, the power happy management created a culture where staff disrespects each other and reports each other in order to keep negative attention off themselves, it's tattle on your peer to Kudlip the department manager or be fired from Memorial, those are your two options. They discipline you for a minute of overtime when they claim patient safety matters, yet they keep the department understaffed? If you are reported for something, you are guilty even if you're innocent, they do not do proper investigations, the smallest mistakes land you in HR, travelers don't last long because they consistently end their contracts early. No opportunities to expand your clinical skills here, you constantly fear for your job here. Very appalling place to work.

Pros

Nice doctors to work with.

Cons

SUTTER HEALTH HAS CHANGED FOR THE BAD THIS PAST DECADE. Sutter bought the Radiology comp that I was working w for 10 years.. Sutter then pushed me into a new data entry position that was not utilizing my skills. Over the next year Issues came about w a new coworker who was acting like my lead, but was not. I held meetings w my new supervisor over this and that my work load was too light.. my supervisor failed to follow through w promises made... and ultimately that coworker got confrontational w me and I left Sutter.

Pros

Talented and driven care teams wanting to provide the best care for their patients. Lean tools and methodologies being deployed to help drive local initiatives and improvement.

Cons

Top down management style! Limited investment dollars necessary for organic growth. Hospital-centric focus trying to shift slowly to ambulatory side of the house.
