Pros

Wonderful benefits and fabulous healthcare.

Cons

Top execs not tuned into what's happening in the clinics. Leadership is top heavy and never seemed aligned. Disengaged with staff.

Unprofessional & crazy managers

Pros

My campus had a Starbucks!

Cons

Where to start… managers in Neuroscience are ridiculous and out of control. They are always hiring people, because they are always firing people for stupid ridiculous things. The manager will come up with fake things if you get on her bad side, especially if you are Caucasian. My advice to white girls – don’t do it. It’s simply not worth putting years of hard work into a dead end job to get fired over bs. I know the economy is bad, but it’s not worth accepting a job will you will ultimately be unappreciated, over worked and ultimately fired. Half the people there are temp workers w/o any benefits. The turnover is high and the talk is cheap.

Pros

Great co-workers and patients for the overall majority. Neuroscience department has amazing management. The doctors are great.

Cons

Swedish's financial crisis has increased layoffs. Our department was promised a bonus if we met outrageous goals which we did in 2011. We did not receive the bonus due to the financial crisis which I am fine with as long as people keep their jobs. But they did not announce this until 2 days before our paychecks were issued and this was during the Christmas season. On top of this they announced it the same time to management so they had no time to prepare for their staffs inevitable upset. The insurance change which causes staff to spend more time on the computer by forcing them to log activity levels etc. A little silly really.
