Pros

-There is potential to make great money. Some guys make well over $50K their first year despite being told you'll make $30K or so your first year. There are a lot of guys who make over $100K a year, but it takes a few years to get to that point. (one guy makes over $300k). -GREAT discounts on gear. You get everything at cost, and some stuff for below cost. -You will learn a LOT about new gear. You get to see stuff months before it's released. -There's a slide right by the Sales floor

Cons

-LOTS of phone calls. If you hate talking on the phone, you will hate this job. That's what you do for most of the day. -Late shifts. You will work late 3 nights a week, plus one Saturday a month for the first 5 years or so. -Monday morning sales labs are so boring and a waste of time. You have to go to this every Monday for the first two years, unless you're in the top 50% in sales for month. -Tuesdays and Thursdays are always at least 11 hour days due to sales meetings you have to attend.

Pros

The best part about this company is the people that make it up. Many of my peers and coworkers will be my friends for life and have forever changed me. Being alongside Sweetwater as it was run by its founder in what I would call "the glory days" was a really amazing experience and his vision drew so many dynamic and passionate individuals from (genuinely) around the planet.

Cons

Ever-changing policies regarding commissions, prospecting, and performance standards from sales management all stem from/point to the fact that Sweetwater had been aquired by an equity firm a few years ago. They are not a "backseat driver" like we were told. Be certain you are not sold on what Sweetwater *was* and discern what Sweetwater *is* on your way in.

Pros

I can’t think of any other than I made a few good friends while working here

Cons

Virtually everything. Long hours if you want to even have a chance of making any money. They constantly move the goal posts in their favor regarding commission and squeezing money from you. I was hired right when the company sold and everything changed and was different based on what it’d been told when hired. If you have a family you can forget having anytime with them. Zero flexibility in schedule. Archaic management styles. Benefits are below average if you opt in. There are required non paid meetings every week. They neglected to tell me this after I started. Culture can be pretty sleazy and people will try to push you and steal customers. Management philosophy is to do nothing and let you figure it out.
