Pros

Chuck is amazing. There are very few companies of this size where you will meet the owner your first few days. When you do you will realize that both him and his wife Lisa are some of the most caring and generous people you will probably ever meet in your life. Your co-workers are great people who will quickly become some of your best friends. The campus is absolutely incredible and located in a city that is really a great place to live. The company itself has DEEP values that value ALWAYS doing the right thing and taking care of the customer. You will not find another organization that spends the time and money investing in its people like Sweetwater will. You will look forward to getting up in the morning and going to work. The wages and benefits are good and the perks are great.

Cons

The company values hard work from the CEO down to the janitor. Work/life balance can be hard sometimes, however, loyalty to the company is rewarded and there are many long time employees.

Pros

Cafeteria and building facilities are quite nice

Cons

- Coding room is small and dark with too many people. - 2nd level of management has effectively neutered direct supervisors. - There is a lot of technical debt on the 4d platform. - Management believes that coders lack the skills to speak to end-users

We're sorry this IT employee felt the way they did. Since this employee departed we have put in place what we call Business Analysts to serve as a communications liaison between departments and our hard working IT professionals. Jeff McDonald, Senior VP of Human Resources

Pros

Sweetwater boasts a lot of great amenities, with a nice gym for employees and an excellent campus. The employees are some of the best people you will meet in one building.

Cons

It’s next to impossible to move up in the company without the ever-coveted “gear knowledge”; ie- experience with music instruments and live sound equipment. That isn’t surprising, given the nature of a lot of the work that is done at Sweetwater. What IS surprising is the amount of time and effort put into the extensive “Sweetwater University” training for incoming Sales Engineers who already possess some level of music industry experience, but that same training experience is walled off to current employees who want to move up and add more value to the company in a capacity outside of selling retail.

We are somewhat confused by this review, given that a significant number (about a dozen) employees in the Sales Assistant role have been promoted to the Sales Engineer role and therefore enrolled in Sweetwater University training over the past few years.
